Join us as we venture off Cape Ann for a hike in the 1000-acre Beverly Commons woodlands in Beverly Farms.   This will be a moderate hike, 3-4 miles, with varied terrain over rocks, roots, whalebacks, scree, autumn leaves, and a lot of ups and downs – a good workout in a beautiful location!

Registration is limited to 20 and opens one week prior to the hike.

Here is a link to a printable trail map which also gives the history of the area.   And here is our route in GaiaGPS, if you would like to upload it and follow along on your device.

We will start along the Blue Perimeter Trail from junction 2, then connect to the Green Inner Loop Trail at junction 7, and then rejoin the Blue Trail via junction 42,  altogether a beautiful and interesting loop within a loop.  The trails are well-marked with numbers at all intersections, which you can see on both maps.  (For those who like to have all the details, we will be proceeding from junction 2 to 11, 13, 14 to connector 15, 16, 17, 18, 6, 7, 24, 23, 35, 34, 43, 42 connector to 63, 62, 61, 3.)

Meeting Spot:  At the Kiosk behind the entrance gate on Greenwood Ave.  Please arrive early. The hike will depart promptly at 10 AM.

Please note that dogs are not permitted on the Sunday Morning Hikes.  We have a Dog-Friendly Hikes group which is now repeating each Sunday Morning hike the following month.  You can join the Dog-Friendly Hikes Google group from our home page to get announcements of each Dog-Friendly hike.

Directions and Parking:  From Route 128, take Exit 48 onto Grapevine Road (which becomes Hart St.), heading toward Beverly Farms.  At Chapman’s Greenhouse (58 Hart St.), turn right onto Greenwood Ave.  Proceed to the end of Greenwood and turn right onto Stone Ridge Rd. and park anywhere on the right side of the road, going down and around the circle, per the parking signs.  Do not park on Greenwood or in the dirt parking lot on the right side of Greenwood; cars there will be ticketed.   Parking is also available on Webster St. which is on the left across from the dirt lot.
