Trail Work Day on Choate Island

  • Saturday, October 22, 2022
  • 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Choate Island, Crane Wildlife Refuge, Essex, MA

Cape Ann Trail Stewards is hosting a Trail Work Day on Choate Island on Saturday, Oct. 22, beginning at 9am, and finishing by 3pm.

There are many overgrown paths to be cleared, and we will help to trim back brush and remove old logs and debris from the trails, including working to re-open a section of fire road that has been blocked by fallen trees since a major storm that occurred back in 2010!

Transportation for volunteers to and from the island by boat will be provided by the Trustees of Reservations.

Take advantage of this chance to help the Trustees open more of the island’s trails, and to spend a day on this beautiful 135-acre island!  (Excellent views looking down across the marsh and ocean from the top of the island!).

Bring your own lunch, and bring hand tools if you have them.  Details on parking instructions and additional info will be emailed to those who volunteer.

If you are interested, please RSVP to contact@capeanntrailstewards.org

Thank you!
