Please join us for a hike that will take us in a big loop from Goose Cove Reservoir to the woodlands at the northern end of Dogtown Common, and back. The trails are ones we have travelled many times before, but we are doing them in a different combination, to keep things interesting!

We’ll start at the Gee Ave. entrance to Goose Cove Reservoir, then turn north on the service road until we pick up the JerryMannder trail (named for Noel Mann's brother Jerry, who blazed it) – a rugged trail tracking northeast that will bring us to the back side of Whale's Jaw. From there, we’ll head down Common Rd. past Peter’s Pulpit, and bear left onto Wharf Rd. to Dogtown Sq. A short distance beyond, we’ll turn right and follow the Adams Pines trail up to the west side of Goose Cove Reservoir, then follow the service road along the southern end of the reservoir back to the start. See the route here: https://www.gaiagps.com/public/xlYSHLJasp9viXZhlcLJAdpH

This is a relatively easy hike, with a few moderate sections on the JerryMannder trail, and plenty of rocks and roots underfoot. It is 4.2 miles, and with stops, could take up to 2.5 hours – but should be less.

Registration is limited to 20 and opens one week prior to the hike.

Meeting Spot: We will meet at the parking lot for Goose Cove Reservoir, at the far end of Gee Ave. See the hike map for specifics.

Please arrive early. The hike will depart promptly at 10 AM.

Please note that dogs are not permitted on the Sunday Morning hikes.  We have a Dog-Friendly Hikes group which is now repeating each Sunday Morning hike the following month.  You can join the Dog-Friendly Hikes Google group from our home page to get announcements of each Dog-Friendly hike.
