CATS Volunteer Hike Leader Training (Saturday, October 24, 2026)

Sat, 24 Oct 2026 17:00:00 GMT

Are you interested in becoming a VOLUNTEER HIKE LEADER or HIKE ASSISTANT/ SWEEP for Cape Ann Trail Stewards?

We are looking to for new volunteers to become hike leaders and sweeps so that we can further expand our public hike offerings! We will be offering a free Volunteer Hike Leader Training Course on Saturday, October 24th from 1-5pm!

We have been consulting with Wildlands Trust (a land trust in SE Mass with a strong volunteer hike leader program!) on developing a training curriculum, manual, and onboarding program for new volunteer hike leaders!

This 4-hour training will be taught by Amy Burt, Programming Coordinator at Wildlands Trust, and will cover topics including safety, leadership, group engagement, and handling various challenges or unexpected scenarios.

The course is free for all interested volunteers, and snacks and beverages will be provided!

If you are interested in attending this training, please RSVP at contact@capeanntrailstewards.org.

(You may also email with any questions!)

Location: This training will be held at the Lanesville Community Center at 8 Vulcan St. in Gloucester. See Google map location HERE.
